Project Highlights

In January 2017, Aclagro initiated extensive road and sewer works for a collaborative project involving Intervia, Aquario, and AWV, under the guidance of the Sweco engineering firm.

This project centered around the transformation of the second largest market square in Flanders, covering an impressive 19,500 square meters. It prominently featured a market hall spanning 2,000 square meters, supported by pile foundations, and boasting a steel structure weighing 120 tons. The hall's distinctive roofing comprised layered glass, soaring to heights of 6 to 8 meters.

Notable Aspects of the Project Include:

  • 7,600 square meters of washed concrete road pavement in rapid-setting concrete
  • 12,000 square meters of 10 cm-thick granite natural stone tiles, arranged in a random pattern
  • 2 kilometers of sewage lines
  • 385 soilmix piles for specific sewer stretches' foundations
  • A fountain with 25 computer-controlled RGB LED-lit nozzles
  • 20,500 cubic meters of earthwork

Detailed planning for the installation of natural stone and concrete phases, a meticulous endeavor undertaken by Aclagro

The complexity of this extensive undertaking required careful orchestration to accommodate numerous factors. On-site teams ensured compactness and clarity, contributing to the smooth progression of the project.
